JEE (Main) 2014: CBSE Includes 3 More NewCenters for the Exam
The Central Board of Secondary Education
(CBSE) has approved for 3 more centers in the state of Odisha viz. Bhawanipatna, Angul and Jeypore for the JEE (Main) 2014. With the addition of these three new centers, the total number of Examination Centers in Odisha for JEE Main 2014 has been increased to 9. Earlier, the Odisha Government wrote letter to the CBSE seeking 12 exam centers across State to conduct JEE Main on 06 April 2014 for admissions to state Engineering Colleges. Previously, the Odisha Govt used to conduct Odisha Joint Entrance Exam (OJEE) to allow admissions in state Engineering colleges/ institutes. But, for the academic session 2014 - 2015, the state has decided to replace the OJEE with the all-India Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, and subsequently will use JEE (Main) 2014 scores for engineering admissions in the state. That is, the selection of students for admission to Engineering courses in the colleges/ institutes in Odisha will be done through JEE (Mains) 2014 only. Besides Odisha, the states of Gujarat and Maharashtra have also joined the queue for using CBSE’s Joint Entrance Examination (Main) system for admission to state’s premier technical institutes for coming sessions. |
