The film has been shot across various malls in Mumbai. Contiloe Entertainment Ltd CEO Abhimanyu Singh said, “I have always been intrigued by the supernatural genre, which is underexploited in our country. Surely, there have been some fantastic films such as Mahal, Woh kaun thi, Bhoot and Ragini MMS, but they have just been a handful in the large number of films produced in our country. We have done 12 years of successful horror on television and it is an interesting challenge to make this genre on celluloid. ” The story revolves around a mall which unleashes its evil side on a few unfortunate people trapped behind. Jimmy Shergill will essay the role of the protagonist, a mall security head in the film. Multi Screen Media COO NP Singh said, “MSM Motion Pictures is making films that will be driven by content. DARR @ The Mall is an attempt in the horror genre. It’s great to be associated with Contiloe entertainment that brings in years of expertise of working on horror as a genre on television.” After dabbling in horror, MSM will then launch ‘Youngistan’, a film for Indian youth, with Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment and Films on 28 March. This will be followed by the romantic comedy ‘Mango’ with Bobby Bedi’s Kaleidoscope Entertainment to release on 11 April. The fourth film from the network is a comedy titled ‘Ghoomketu’ in association with Phantom Films. The release date of the film is not known yet.
