C band on 70cm dish experiment
I put an old Gardner lnb on d2h dish which is around 70cm in size. First up, I tried asiasat7, some tps showed some signal quality movement, usually in my stb if signal quality of a TP is around 22% then it means the dish is too small to receive it, that's what I have observed with manu ku band sats which have partial coverage and require larger dish at my location. Next, I thought ST with such high EIRP values might have some chance, sadly got nothing there either. Some people will tell me that is waste of effort, but that is not the point, I just want to see, if C band can be received on a samll dish. If you agree with my point of view, you should give it a try too. I have never set C dish before, so I am not familiar with it, but I am learning about it. I will try some other sats too and update here .

No C on 70cm tried and tested , but I modified my ku 70cm dish and increased the size by 20-25cm now I did scan 3 tp's from asiasat5 with good signals but no channels. Also managed to track ST with 3TP and 20 channels. |
