Conditional Access Keys used in Television channels.
Some tv channels are viewing directly without keys or codes.
But some channels are encrypted their programs with some coding protocol.
We can able to see only when it decrypted by proper coding.
commonly 6 types of keys are used today for coding protocol.

Biss keys ( Basic Interoperable Scrambling System, (BISS)
This is unknown to the user of the decoder. The user is then sent a 16-digit hexadecimal code, which is entered as a "session key". This session key is then mathematically combined internally to calculate a BISS key that can decrypt the signal. Only a decoder with the correct secret BISS-key will be able to decrypt a BISS feed. This gives rightsholder control as to exactly which decoder can be used to decrypt/decode a specific feed. Any BISS encrypted feed will have a corresponding BISS key that will unlock it.

Viaccess keys
Viaccess Keys - very secure (in the latest versions) from breaking coding. Designed in France. Used in Russia by NTV-Plus, in Europe (for example, on Hotbird satellite in its coded set of channels). Viaccess is a very well-developed access by Orange SA. Implementation of this procedure that automatically updated keys proved to be difficult if not impossible to implement multiple satellite receivers. Viaccess is used by many vendors.

Nagravision Keys
Nagravision Keys - used by some European providers of satellite TV as well as Dish Network USA. Nagravision has four versions that are used for satellite television, is known Cardmagedon Nagravision, Nagravision, Nagravision Merlin, Nagravision Aladin. Everywhere Nagravision has been adopted as a conditional access system. Nagravision system has been implemented in many FTA satellite receivers, not allowing unauthorized viewing to those who do not have an official purchase card.

Cryptoworks Keys
Cryptoworks Keys is a DVB conditional access system, developed by Philips CryptoTec but now belonging to Irdeto. Other conditional access systems include Irdeto, Nagravision, Mediaguard. Cryptoworks is a DVB encrypted access system, developed by Philips CryptoTec but now it belongs to Irdeto. We know that this coding system is very weak. However, the keys have not been all internet packets channels.

Conax keys
Conax encrypted television grow to have a digital television content security. Conax CAS technology provides pay television operators in more than 85 countries worldwide. Telenor Conax was created by Research Labs in 1980 was created as a separate company in 1994 Conax AS. In March 2014. It has a center support 24 7 overall in India. Pay TV operators using Conax Satellite access, it is used by Dish TV India.

Mediaguard Keys
Mediaguard is a conditional access system for digital television developed by SECA, company. Mediaguard is especially used by Canal +. Manufacturers who use their equipment are usually Mediaguard Nokia, Hitachi, Humax, Ltd, JVC, Kenwood Electronics, Philips. It rarely used because of its susceptibility to brokening, mainly the second version of the encoding (Mediaguard 2).

Nice info provided in nut shell. However, there is one more encryption called "IRDETO" exists.

Irdeto is a company which sells conditional access systems for digital satellite television. It is a division of Naspers, a South African company which is marketing in two packages, M-Crypt and PIsys. This encryption system used bysatellite broadcasters such as South Africa’s DStv, Australia’s Austar & Europe's Eutelsat etc. The current revision of Irdeto is Irdeto 2.

RE: Conditional Access Keys used in Television channels.
I've been trying to transfer my cable subscription from local cable provider to advanced boxes which I purchased online but no success to now.
My local Provider's box which is without card n secured by Nagra platform, how can I copy the encryption setting from it n transfer them to my new box? I tried serial connection but unable to send signals, only succeeded in receiving signals which didn't help. Any1 has experience with JTAG?
