High TV ratings for final ODI between India and Australia
The conclusion of the recent one day international (ODI) cricket series between India and Australia has become the highest rated single-day television event in India of 2013, according to Star Sports.
The recent match achieved 55,561 TVTs across India, while also registering the highest time spent per viewer (101 minutes on both the English and Hindi feeds) from all the ODIs played in 2013, the broadcaster said. The India versus Australia ODI series – which ran from 10 October to 2 November – was watched by just under 43% of India's cable and satellite homes. "We are delighted with the viewer traction for the series. There is an upswing of almost 18% in average time spent per viewer per match for the India-Australia ODI series as compared to all India ODIs played in the year 2013," said Nitin Kukreja, head of sports business, Star India. "We are pleased to note the stickiness that Hindi commentary has been able to generate in the Hindi speaking markets. This is a clear cut vindication of our strategy of promoting choice of language for the consumer." RE: High TV ratings for final ODI between India and Australia
The recently concluded India-Australia series has emerged as the most watched ODI series this year with the decider seventh ODI becoming the highest rated single day TV event, the official broadcaster claimed today.
As per TAM data provided by Star Sports for CS 15+, M, SEC ABC TG and All India market, the seventh ODI match, which saw India winning the match and with that the series, garnered 55561 TVTs which remains unmatched on Indian television across all genres. The decider match, Star Sports says, also recorded highest time spent per viewer (TSV) across ODIs in 2013 with 101 minutes on both Hindi and English commentary feed. The series was watched by almost 43 per cent of the C&S base, the broadcaster stated. The viewership data vindicates Star Sports’ strategy of having a Hindi feed to drive engagement, Star India head of sports business Nitin Kukreja said. “We are delighted with the viewer traction for the series. There is an upswing of almost 18 per cent in average time spent per viewer per match for the India-Australia ODI series as compared to all India ODIs played in the year 2013,” he stated. He added further, “We are pleased to note the stickiness that Hindi commentary has been able to generate in the HSM markets. This is a clear cut vindication of our strategy of promoting choice of language for the consumer. ” Sports broadcaster Star Sports had launched a high-decibel campaign, with the core theme ‘Fight for No 1’, to promote the India Australia series featuring seven ODIs and a T20 match. The high profile series commenced on 10 October and ended on 2 November, just 2 days before Diwali. The fourth and fifth ODI of the series were impacted by rain. India won the hard fought series 3-2, thereby retaining the No 1 ranking in the ICC ODI Rankings. Read more at: http://www.televisionpost.com/television...ar-sports/ | TelevisionPost.com |
