17th June 1999
The greatest ever semi-final OR Login to view. Termed as one of the greatest matches ever in the history of cricket - the second semi-final of the 1999 World Cup between Australia and South Africa was full of drama and excitement. A fantastic five-for from Shaun Pollock had restricted Australia to 213, a score they were able to reach due to the combined brilliance of Steve Waugh and Michael Bevan. Kallis' masterclass resurrected South Africa after Shane Warne's aggression but the fateful run-out of Allan Donald, who failed to respond to Lance resulted into an unlikely tie. A superior net run-rate in the Super Six stage meant that Australia progressed to the final, crushing South Africa's hopes. Stay Tuned to SATHUNTERS FORUM You will be amazed........ |

18th June 1983
A Kapil Dev masterclass OR Login to view. Possibly one of the greatest ODI innings by an Indian batsman, Kapil Dev's brutal 175 not out against Zimbabwe in the 1983 World Cup, resurrected India's campaign in the tournament. India were reduced to 17 for 5 by the intimidating duo of Peter Rawson and Kevin Curran. However, Kapil Dev's arrival at the crease changed the entire tone of the innings as he blasted his way to a spectacular 175 in just 138 deliveries, smashing 16 fours and six sixes in his knock. His action-packed innings ensured India posted a competitive 266/8 and secured a 31-run victory over the opposition. Stay Tuned to SATHUNTERS FORUM You will be amazed........ |
