Help:Catching Thaicom5 and endup with Intelsat17
I am unable to get the signal from Thaicom5. I have 6ft Primefocus solid dish, C band LNB. I have set, Az and Elev as per dishpointer.com details. Rarely i am getting 60% SS with my signal finder and the signal is not stable, immediately it goes off. What are the other parameters to be checked? Experts Please provide useful help to get the signal and this is my first experience.

RE: Help:Catching Thaicom5
In some of the threads, i read that SOLID dual pol C band LNB is not suitable for Solid PF dish. Is it true? Further, i am getting Ku band sats with ku band lnb. There is a cellphone tower near to my area. Has this TI any effect for my problem? Experts/Admin please provide solutions for this prob without saying to change the LNB.

RE: Help:Catching Thaicom5
Are you able to catch other sats with your LNB ? If yes means, Is that other sat signals are stable ?

Yes Bro, with my tiredless effort, I got INSAT3A, INSAT4A and finally Intelsat20 one by one with the same setup. Only thing, i changed was shift the dish in front of a wall (hiding the dish from vicininty of cell tower). But I am not able get satable signal from IS20, some of the transponders SQ is zero. some of them locked during evening and mornig "Weak' signal. How do i get these signals, particularly Tamil Channels like pepers, shalini and Lotus?. I tried various positions of LNB skews. |

RE: Help:Catching Thaicom5
Dear Srini, my dish is 6ft primefoucs. Meanwhile i have got 63% SQ from Intelsat17 66E. but again i am not getting all TPs and i have to improve SQ atleast 70% with max TPs. Further I am planning to add one more LNB to catch IS20 68E. Experts may please provide distance between two LNBs for this dual LNB setup to make the LNB holder strip.
NOTE to ADMIN: Please change the title as "Catching Intelsat17" since i tried Thailcom for experiment mode and finally got success with IS17.0 |
