From http://www.ciol.com/ciol/news/195745/tat...adquarters Tata Sky chose the Simulsat broadcast system because of the antenna's ability to receive programming from up to 35 satellites simultaneously AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS: Antenna Technology Communications Inc., a provider of satellite communications systems, today announced from the IBC Conference in Amsterdam that Tata Sky has selected the ATCi Simulsat 5b Multibeam antenna solution and related satellite equipment to outfit its headquarters in Chennai, India. Incorporated in 2004, Tata Sky is a JV between the TATA Group and STAR. Tata Sky DTH offers Indian viewers a world class television viewing experience through its satellite television service. Tata Sky chose the Simulsat broadcast system because of the antenna's ability to receive programming from up to 35 satellites simultaneously without degradation of quality across each signal. With a 70-degree longitude satellite view arc, Simulsat can receive a variety of "C" and Ku-band satellite programming data. Essentially, one Simulsat does the work of 35 steerable parabolic antennas and only requires the space of one and a half antennas. "We are pleased with the prompt installation of the Simulsat System at our facility in Chennai," said Joby Sebastian, Tata Sky. "This solution has saved us a considerable amount of space and installation man-hours - if we were to opt for the conventional one antenna per satellite system, and we are hopeful of utilizing it to its potential in the coming years as we expand our carriage base." Sebastian continued, "We also appreciated the ATCi Team's professionalism in maintaining the agreed time-line besides responding to our queries before and during the installation." |
